Amrita Das from Traveling Ides of March just released her top travel moments of 2015, and they’re truly inspiring. She traveled extensively through her native India, stopping in the province of Uttarakhand 3 times and trekking through the Valley of Flowers. She also had an amazing trip in the Andalusia region of Spain.
Amrita was able to travel all year because she quit her office job to work as a freelancer. This allowed her to have incredible adventures like kayaking across a small section of the Indian Ocean, learning flamenco dancing in Seville, and traveling to the home of her ancestors in Shillong, India.
Do you wish you could live Amrita’s life? Obviously, the life of a full-time traveler is not for everyone. For many people, having roots and a solid home to return to is part of what makes traveling fun. Regardless of whether the professional traveler’s life is appealing to you, you can’t help but be in awe of all the incredible experiences Amrita had this past year. Even if it’s not feasible for you to quit your job and hit the road permanently, you can certainly learn some lessons from Das’ spirit of adventure, curiosity and joie de vivre.
