Brazil is hosting the Olympics this year, and to encourage foreigners to come to the games they’re waiving the requirement to purchase a travel visa to enter the country during the months that surround the Olympics. Rio, here we come! Chile is another country that recently waived its entry fee, leaving you no excuse not to stop by and try the country’s famous wines.
Americans traveling to Cuba must either get a legal exemption that allows them to travel to the embargoed country or fly to another country and then go to Cuba illegally. With relations between the U.S. and Cuba thawing of late, it seems likely that tourist flights to Havana will be legalized some time this year. Finally, Americans will be able to enjoy the wonderful Cuban resorts (and cigars!) that the rest of the world has gotten to experience during the decades’ long trade embargo.
