The beautiful and historic city of Bruges, Belgium, might be familiar to Americans from the gloriously profane Colin Farrell comedy “In Bruges.” The film isn’t fit for children, but the city itself is a wonderful family destination. The city is one of the best places in the world to see gothic architecture preserved from the 14th century, either on a walking tour or a canal tour that takes advantage of the waterways that cut through the city center. After getting your fill of architecture, take the kids to sample Belgium’s most famous export at the Chocolate Museum.
