Skyscanner recently launched an easy-to-use, interactive world map that provides travel updates on which destination and how easy you can visit them.
New UK research showed that travelers feel little confidence to travel overseas due to the COVID19 restrictions, complexity of flying, and crossing borders. Half of the participants of the survey responded that they find it difficult to understand the current entry restrictions of each country and therefore, they prefer not to travel altogether.
As Skyscanner confirms within 7 to 30 days from the announcement of the new vaccine being rolled out, the flight searches have increased by 60%. The news of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel has resulted in more travelers to search for flights and seek for more travel information between countries.
Jo McClintock, Skyscanner Senior Director Global Marketing, Brand & Content, said: “Consumers just do not understand the complex rules and are crying out for transparent, detailed information. Our new, simple-to-use, and up-to-date map helps travelers navigate the fast-changing travel landscape. However, whilst helping travelers better comprehend the current complexities can go a long way towards building confidence, it is only one piece of the puzzle – we need to see urgent, global coordination and harmonization to firmly accelerate the travel recovery.”
The interactive map is constantly being updated and it is super easy to use: just choose the country you’re flying from and your desired destination. Then, a pop-up window will show you all the restrictions in an understandable, bullet-point format. It will also provide all the necessary links to external resources for further information and documentation.
At the bottom of the map, you can also see the number of countries with low, moderate, and major restrictions. In addition, if you sign up with your email you can get travel updates of the restrictions in your wanted destinations.
