10 to 11% of the population is considered affluent travelers. Affluent travelers spend less time on line looking for accomadations for their travel. They tend to use reward programs which are more geared for affluent travelers and less targeted to the average middle class traveler. Because of the reduced activity of affluent travelers using the internet to find hotels, they are harder to track and target through advertising campaigns.
