London Gatwick Airport 2July 2010
My flight with Easyjet to Barcelona is scheduled for 19;05
I left my Hotel room in good time so I will have no problem, no rushing, no stress.
I went through security only to find out that on the departure screen there was:   19:05h  Gate opens 20:15h.
Oh no, I thought I will be very late back in Barcelona….but I waited nicely  at 20:25 the screen changed from Gate opens 20:15 to please wait.
20:45 it changed to  canceled.
Now of course everybody was rushing to the 2 guys who services EasyJet passenger in the departure hall.
We have been informed that we will be rebooked but we have to wait here until we get escorted through security back to
the check in counter.
After 45 Minutes waiting it was announced we can leave the place and where escorted to the check in counter where 2 staff members of Easyjet should take care of some over 100+ angry people.
I waited until 23:00 in this queue only to hear from the Easyjet representative that there are absolutely no flights available until Sunday. We either accept traveling on Sunday that we get 2 nights hotel accommodations plus transfer. People who do not accept this don’t need to wait any longer as their only choice is getting a refund for their ticket.
(O-ton Easyjet Employee)  I left the queue there because it was 20 past eleven and I needed a bed after a hard days work. I checked in at the Hilton Gatwick for 114Pounds.
What I hate the most in this is the lack of information and the limited service. T take care of all that stranded people and the queues.
1.you wait 45minute until they let you out
2.you wait another hour for changing of your flight
3.you wait another 30 minutes for getting your hotel room
4.you wait another hours getting back to pick up your checked luggage
5….and you wait for the transfer bus.
VERY BADY ORGANIZTION!
I understand if I wouLd have 40Pounds I can’t expect anything but I paid 400Euro for my flight, not precisely a bargain!.
