Luggage problems are the eternal fear of travelers all across the world. We’re trusting them and their handling abilities – and we’ve all been screwed by them before.
You never want to be in a new city, in a new country, in a new continent, and all of a sudden find out that you’re things are residing in some other nation right now. But if new studys are to be believed , it’s been getting progressively easier to handle.
SITA Aero has released their numbers for 2015, finding an almost 5% drop in mishandled bags across the board. While airlines still lost 2.3 billion USD on lost bags this past year, it’s still an improvement from 2014 by 3.75%. Hell, ten years alone, the airline industry around the world lost 4.2 billion dollars recouping the loses made from misshandled bags.
This is setting all time records for airlines all across the world, and promises better improvements in the future. With self service bag drop systems on the rise and automated systems on the rise, flying just seems to be getting easier with each year.
