Kaiseki is a Japanese way of serving a meal. It seems to be lavish and elaborate, yet simple of ingredients. Its a 6 course meal, but the unique thing I found about it is that the chef gathers ingredients from the forests and surrounding enviroment. The meal prepared is in tuned with the season and the surroundings of the diner. The unique ingredients also make this style of cuisine more expensive, as the chef just doesnt go to the local market to prepare a meal.
