The prestigious Michelin restaurant guides will add a new member to their family soon. The 2016 set of Michelin guides will include a tome about the best eating in Singapore. The country’s leaders hope that recognition by Michelin will help draw tourists looking to sample Singapore’s eclectic mix of Chinese, Malaysian, and international cuisine. Although the Michelin guide generally focuses on fancy restaurants, local food exports hope that the Singapore edition will include material on the country’s thriving street food scene.
