Food travel is always changing. You never know when the next amazing meal is going to come from. But that just means you need to keep an eye on the changing trends for food around the world.
And to make matters better? A lot of travel packages are including some amazing meals along for the trip. Which means that food tourism is getting better and better.
Recent polls by the World Food Travel Association has found that most foodies on the go aren’t looking for a great meal, so much as a unique and creative dish.
Erik Wolf, executive director of the WFTA, shared some of his thoughts on the matter with Skift.
“Some destinations just put together a restaurant guide, but that’s useless from a foodie’s perspective because there’s nothing there that really captures the excitement for us… It goes back to the experience. I think a lot of destinations focus too much on eating out, but that’s just 5% of the things involved in food tourism.”
