If you’re having a protracted dispute with an airline and you know you’re in the right, try filing a complaint with the Department of Transportation. This will often make the airline pay more attention to your case and resolve it properly. Officially, the DOT requires that airlines deal with complaints within 30 days, but many people experience response times of just a day or two after complaining to the Department.
