La Ronda, Spain, is an ancient city that looks like it came straight out of a fantasy novel. The city was founded during the time of Julius Caesar, and in the millennia since its creation the Guadalevin river in the middle of town has carved a 100 meter canyon in the town’s foundation rocks. The two halves of the historic urban center are connected by three bridges from different historical eras: Roman, Arab and New. The charms of historic La Ronda drew illustrious travelers like Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles.
