Looks like there’s a new tip for travelers embarking across America – sometimes the extra price is worth it.
In the United States, there’s a bus line known as the Megabus. It’s absurdly cheap, advertising travel for only $1, each way. And if that sounds too good to be true, well, it’s because it is. During a routine ninety mile trip, Lucas Peterson with The New York Times was trying to just experience a new form of travel – when a fire happened. Not because of another passenger or anything like that. A small fire started behind one of the wheels, which went on to consume the entire bus in flames. Many travelers lost their possessions, which, wow. That’s terrible. But, luckily, no one was actually caught in the flames, which is something.
But if you’re looking to get across the United States, you might want to avoid going with the low rent bus lines.
