With the release date of the newest Star Wars movie drawing ever closer, enthusiasm about the film and everything connected to it is rising to a fever pitch National Geographic has a great piece that lists some of the places around the world that Stars Wars die-hards can visit to feel like they’re inside the universe of the films. Rub al Khali outside Abu Dhabi was used in the new film as a desert backdrop for a newly introduced planet called Jakku. People looking for a place without so much desert sun should check out another film location, the Krafla volcanic lake in Iceland.
