The Lonely Planet Blog took some time to chat with Gina Vercesi, a mother of two who runs kids unplugged.org. She talked about how to plan trips that get children away from screens and off the grid so that they can appreciate the world around them. Gina recently took her brood on a cruise through the remote coastline of Maine, and despite the lack of internet her kids had a great time. Vercesi says that kids really do appreciate being given the opportunity to slow down and commune with nature.
